Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and IV4, Rua da Fé 24, 1675-Pontinha, Lisboa, Portugal, registered under number 509057381 (“Culinari”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Culinari website and application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Culinari helps you store, organise, cook from and share recipes — including recipe management, cookbooks, a book library, meal planning, shopping lists and optional AI-assisted features. We may add, change or remove features over time.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Culinari. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use. Please provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, notes and other content you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant Culinari a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — for example to render your recipes, build your cookbooks and generate exports. Where you choose to publish content or share it with a group, you grant the people who can access it the right to view and use it within the Service. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you upload, and for ensuring it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • upload malicious, harmful or unlawful content;
  • harass others or post abusive content;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or to other accounts;
  • scrape, overload or disrupt the Service;
  • resell the Service without our permission.

5. Subscriptions, billing and refunds

Culinari offers free and paid (premium) plans. Paid plans are sold and processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase; Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to the transaction. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and will keep premium access until the end of the paid period. Prices may change, with notice taking effect at renewal. Your statutory withdrawal and refund rights under EU and Portuguese consumer law apply; for refund requests contact [email protected]. See our Refund Policy for how refunds and your 14-day right of withdrawal work.

6. AI-generated content and food-safety disclaimer

Some features generate content using artificial intelligence (for example recipe drafts, critiques or illustrations). AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable. Culinari is not a source of professional culinary, nutritional, medical or food-safety advice. You are responsible for using your own judgement before cooking or eating — in particular for cooking temperatures, ingredient safety, allergens and dietary needs. Always verify allergen and food-safety information independently. We give no warranty that any recipe, AI-generated or otherwise, is accurate, safe or fit for any particular purpose.

7. Intellectual property

The Service itself — its software, design, branding, and the “Culinari” name and logo — belongs to Culinari and is protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use them except as needed to use the Service normally.

8. Third-party content

Culinari may reference third-party works such as published cookbooks, and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party content, and referencing a work does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Culinari is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Culinari and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms Culinari or others. On termination your right to use the Service ends; the sections that by their nature should survive (such as content-licence limits, disclaimers and liability) continue to apply.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. If you continue to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
